This week, I worked on a combination of the midterm and the two DC motor labs for the week.
Motor Labs
The motor labs were the first time I worked with DC current and motors. After doing the readings on different transistors, I started on the first lab. After a couple of tries and some help from the pcomp residents, I was able to get a functioning DC motor.
I noticed that the potentiometer input to the DC motor was very delayed; it would only work the first time I turned the knob from 0 to 1023, and the motor had difficulty keeping up with the changing rate of the potentiometer.
Next, I tried the DC gearmotor, which didn’t end up working. I wasn’t sure why, and tried running the code a couple of times, but it wouldn’t compute. I’m hoping I can figure it out in class.
